The Self-Love Knowing

Why Practicing Self-Love is Important and Necessary as a Leader

Imagine your career as your “house.” You built your house from the ground up with skills you acquired at school, in various jobs, and from your mentors. 🏠

So, you have your foundation, the beams holding up the house. Those are your soft skills. Things like emotional intelligence, communication, time management, problem solving…

(Because we all know that soft skills are what actually keep the workplace safe, employees engaged, and leverage a profit. So yes, these are the foundations.)

Then you can start filling out the rest of the house like the roof, windows, doors, floors. These are hard skills like excel, project management, data analysis, sales, marketing… These skills protect you, open doors for you, and help you see where you’re at.

But, keep in mind, there is something underneath the house, supporting the whole foundation.

And that’s Self-Love. ❤️

Think of Self-Love as your soil. The ground upon which your house is built.

If the soil isn’t stable, the foundation could crack. Perhaps even fall to the ground.

If the soil has all the right properties for your house, you have a solid foundation. 💪🏼

So, what does a supportive foundation of Self-Love look like? Well…here are just a few examples:

✨ Self-Love prevents burnout because you trust yourself to set boundaries, manage your time and practice Self-Care.

✨ Self-Love is showing up in alignment with your most authentic self, because you truly know who you are and have stepped into your power.

✨ Self-Love is creating a mind-body connection so you can manage your emotions in a healthy way and not spill out over everyone.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Self-Love is the foundation of how you do everything in your life. Especially how you lead.

So, let me ask you… How solid is your foundation?
